Beacon Hill North-Rothwell Heights is a community located in Ottawa's east end. The neighbourhood was originally named for a lighthouse in the Ottawa River that could be seen from the neighbourhood. The community is home to the Colonel By Secondary School that has the International Baccalaureate Diploma Program a very popular and sought after program. Residents of the community are mostly English speaking but like most communities in Ottawa there is a small percentage of the population that speak French primarily.

Future Developments
Like most neighbourhoods in Ottawa the community is currently working to resolve damage done by the Emerald Ash Borer. The community association is working to educate residents on how to care for their still healthy trees and to replace affected trees with new healthy ones.
