There are three Montessori schools in Kanata. The March Montessori school is the north campus of Kanata Montessori School. The school is multi-cultural and multi-faith. It is a private, non-profit school. The Kanata Montessori School is currently building a high school so that Montessori educated children can continue with this education through to Grade 12. South March Public School is one of Kanata's newest schools, opening in 2009. Its students mostly come from the Briarbrook and March communities. They offer English and French programs as well as a specialized Autism program. If you are moving into one of the many newly built homes in North Kanata, this school may be your best choice. West Carleton Secondary School hosts students from Arnprior to Western Kanata. The school is situated in Dunrobin, West of the city, on 107 acres of field, wetland and forest. 75 per cent of students attending this school end up doing futher study at university or college.
